Class Description

Description

Join us for an inspiring and educational seminar on black and white photography at PhotoUno Photography School in New York City. In this lecture-style session, we’ll dive deep into the history, techniques, and artistry behind one of the most iconic forms of photography: black and white.

Explore the works of famous black and white photographers, from Ansel Adams to Dorothea Lange, and learn about their methods, motivations, and how their images shaped the way we see the world. Understand the unique aspects of photographing in black and white, and how this artistic choice can convey mood, emphasize form, and simplify complex scenes. What makes Black and White so amazing is that through monochromatic images, you can play with the contrast between light and dark to attract the eye, create geometric patterns and get incredible textures.

  • Get inspired by the works of iconic photographers like Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and more
  • Understand the reasons behind choosing black and white for powerful storytelling
