Description
What you'll learn in this abstract painting class:
In these four sessions of figure drawing, you will be guided through making four colorful figure drawings, using only black and white soft pastels or conte. The size of paper is your choice, but the more ambitious can choose larger paper. This is a mixed media project where you will be utilizing several mediums, including water-based, so make sure that your paper is heavy enough. Sketch paper or drawing paper is not appropriate. We will start with four abstract backgrounds and then draw a nude over them. This layered medium will demonstrate to you the almost magical serendipity that happens when the two layers meet: your colors of the underpainting show up in the right places of the drawing!
This project will benefit animators, illustrators, fine artists, portfolio students, cartoonists, tattoo artists, costume / fashion designers.
Appropriate for levels intermediate to advanced. Essential Drawing Course graduates welcome.

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
