In this one-day Bringing TV Characters To Life workshop “Transparent” and “I Love Dick” Consulting Producer Brett Paesel, helps you break down your script into 5 essential movements, a unique form of structure. In this capacity, she assists directors and writers in breaking down scenes into actions, beats, and beat changes, teaching them the actors’ craft.

Brett leads get-on-your-feet techniques to find the character’s feelings in your body. This unique intuitive approach will lift your dialogue and your character’s lives right off of the page and help you understand them and write them in a visceral way. It will ensure your scenes are character driven. Bring in a scene that you are working on in your pilot or screenplay and see how it’s done. By the end of the class you’ll have a new understanding of writing layered believable characters as well as some cool new ninja screen/TV writing tools to boot.
