Unlock your child's creativity and unleash their inner game designer with our hands-on Video Game Design course. From designing narratives to programming roles, students will learn the art of game creation using Code.org or Scratch platforms. By the end of the session, they'll have their game projects to share with friends and family.
Our Video Game Design course provides the basics of game design in a hands-on environment. Students will discover the process of designing and building games using Code.org or Scratch platforms. Students will learn how to be a game designer, design narratives, learn to apply art and animation, programming roles, project teamwork, and how to make a game from beginning to end. During and at the end of the session, students will be in possession of their game projects to share with friends and family.
There are no refunds or transfers after a class begins. Requests to withdraw from a class or transfer to another Community Services class must be done 5 OR MORE DAYS prior to the first class meeting. There is a $15 service charge per class for each refund or transfer requested. If you enrolled in a class less than 5 days prior to the first class meeting, NO refunds will be given. There are no refunds or credits for absences and late registrations are not pro-rated. Missed class meetings may not be made up in another class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
Students in the Video Game Design classes for ages 8-15 have generally found the classes enjoyable. Students were able to learn valuable skills in video game design and walk away with a solid foundation in the subject and felt comfortable taking their skills to the next level, particularly for younger children.
