We believe that comedy is truly an art-form, a combination of raw talent and technique. Talent can be lost without technique, so we first teach joke structure and the basic language of comedy. We also believe that what makes a great comedian is being personal and authentic and, perhaps, a rule-breaker, so we provide a safe and fun environment where you can be just that: authentic, inspired and successful. Whether you are already a working comedian or looking to make it your profession, or simply need help with that next presentation or just want to come and have fun, we can help you find the path to funny.

The class was good. Biggest complaint would be there wasn’t enough time but that was sort of expected with it only being a 3 hour workshop . This was a sampler and it served its purpose.

We started with the basics of holding a microphone, which was actually helpful. learned how to outline jokes, and had time to write ourselves. bring a notebook. Everyone was a beginner and the teacher made everyone feel comfortable.

Joanie Coyote was wonderful and insightful. She gave me some of the best and most useful notes I've ever received from a director or teacher. She never put me down and never poked fun of any of us. She's a pro and you can feel it when she talks to you. She empathizes with how vulnerable we are up there and made us all feel like we really could/can do this seemingly impossible task of "getting up and doing 5 minutes". Oh, and she taught me how to write a joke.... And a whole bunch of other stuff you need to know before you step on that stage. I loved the class and I think Ms. Coyote is exceptional.

I enjoyed the class very much. Much of what was discussed, I already knew, but there would be no way the instructor would know that ahead of time. The instructor did mention a possible 6 week long course on sitcom writing. I think that would be a great addition to the coursework offered. Thank you. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.
