What you'll learn in this voice over class:

Every Voice Over actor needs a V/O demo. A good demo of your work can actually make or break you in the voice over industry. But what constitutes a good demo? How long should it be and how many pieces of copy should it have? How much should you spend on a demo?

The answers to these many questions and ONE professionally produced demo track are just TWO of the reasons Actors Connection is proud to offer this online Voice Over Demo Day lead by V/O Producer and Audio Engineer Bryant Falk.

The day begins with an in-depth lecture about the demo creation process; the do's and dont's, the qualities of a good demo, as well as the types of copy each demo should contain. After this very informative discussion, Bryant will individually coach each voice-over actor through scripted V/O copy in a private recording session either online or at his VO studio in NYC.

After the conclusion of the event, Bryant will create and email you ONE completed sample track with music, effects and all the bells and whistles that make a demo professional and marketable. This will be emailed to you within 1-2 weeks after completing this intensive.

What to Prepare:

You'll choose between four animations applying your special character voice to one of them. This will give you one sample that can be used on your website to showcase your animation skills!

Please note: For this intensive, you must have at least a basic home VO studio with a mic with either Audacity, Twisted Wave etc. to record.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

Arrive at least 10 minutes before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.
Instructions and the Zoom link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by the day-of the event, please reach out to hell[email protected] at least one hour prior to the start of class.

**No recording of any kind is permitted by participants during class.**

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

School Notes:
Class end time will vary depending on the number of actors and the scenes that are assigned. Registrants are advised to budget extra time, as class time may run over.

Refund Policy

We regret that we are unable to give refunds under any circumstances.

If you cancel at least 3 business days before the scheduled time of your seminar, you will receive credit for monies paid.
The policy for an online class or special event is 8 business days prior to the start date in order to receive credit for monies paid.

If you cancel in time, credit is automatically returned to your account. If you are canceling late, no credit is given unless we find a replacement for you. We have, on occasion, been able to replace actors who cancel late with others from wait lists or who might be standing by. If you are replaced, as a courtesy, we will not charge you for the late cancellation. Please consider any late cancellation a charge on your account, and any resulting replacement a courtesy. You may want to readjust your schedule to attend since, although we do our best to have full seminars, we can never promise a replacement.

If you are a “no show” for a seminar, you will not receive credit under any circumstances.

I've been told for years to use my voice as an instrument for V/O. I've never taken a class before - however I've hosted a cable talk show, called play by play of baseball games on television, used my voice as a V/O for an award-winning documentary I produced last year - but I notice this class says intermediate? Being I have no understanding of the landscape and or a demo etc... is this class way over my head? Or will it offer me a good foundation?

Hi there! As per the school, they recommend that you take some of the voice over classes before taking this intensive. You need to understand mic technique, voice over copy and the various mediums before working on a voice over demo. You should start off with Intro to V/O with Paul Liberti and Maggie Phillips and then take the Intermediate/Advanced Classes. Once you have that training, then take this intensive.
