What you'll learn in this basic russian class:

Can you introduce yourself and make a great first impression in Russian?

Beginner Russian 2 is for you if you're familiar with pronunciation rules, the basics of the Russian alphabet, and you can say simple sentences.

WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR

Start here if you've already completed Russian 1 with us, or if you've studied Russian before and can confidently read and write, conjugate verbs in the present tense, use the nominative case with noun and adjective cases, and understand number and gender agreement.

HOW YOU'LL LEARN

With a small group (averaging six students per class and capped at ten), you'll have an opportunity to engage in conversational Spanish with other language learners with realtime feedback from the instructor.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Everyday vocabulary. Reflexive verbs. Past tense. Russian case system. Decline nouns, adjectives, and pronouns.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH

By the end of our level two course, you'll be able to talk about your daily routine, talk about how you spent your day or weekend, and give and ask for the time and date.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Plans change—we totally get it. That’s why you have until 7 days prior to the start date of your class to make any cancelations or same-level transfers. After that, refunds cannot be offered under any circumstance and for transfers, there may be a fee. (Exception: If you’re in an incorrect level placement for a language class, we’ll make sure to get you into the right one).

The cancellation policy for private and makeup lessons is as follows: 24 hour notice is expected for cancellation of any weekday (before 6pm) lessons. Otherwise, you will still be charged. Weeknight (after 6pm) or weekend private or makeup lessons cannot be cancelled.

This was a terrific way for me to dust off the cobwebs after many years of being away from the language. It surveyed many topics in a low key, entertaining format. The teachers' depth of linguistic knowledge and resources such as relevant videos and study aides served to boost learning motivation.

I really enjoyed my class. Leila is a great teacher, we had very varying material: the book, training exercises, apps, online exercises, videos, songs and many other things. It was a wonderful way to learn, being in a small group in an online class also helped. I feel like I learned a lot but even more importantly, the class gave me great motivation and the tools to also learn and continue to study by myself.

Ivan was a great teacher. He has a great talent for speaking very clearly so it was easy to pick up what he was saying and hear the proper way to speak and also for explaining the history and development of the language. He has a great sense of humor and made class (even some of the more dry parts of the language, such as telling time or counting) move smoothly.
