Connect with our encouraging and supportive community of students worldwide and receive personalized instruction from a top-notch professional artist and art educator. Explore a wide variety of watercolor painting styles and techniques that will expand your creativity, build your confidence as an artist, and help you relax, increase joy and relieve stress.
In this online watercolor painting class, YOU will:
- Explore and paint from a wide variety of subject matter, including flowers, birds and landscapes.
- Learn and strengthen specific watercolor techniques, including color theory, composition, layering, brushstroke styles, and more.
- Continue practicing fundamental watercolor techniques including gradated washes, wet and dry paint application, texture creation, light and shadow, blending and edge control.
- Feel inspired with group instruction at a relaxed pace as well as one-on-one, tailor-made, expert watercolor painting instruction by a professional artist and teacher from our NYC art studio.
- Enjoy motivating artistic demonstrations that support your creative development.
- Continue to develop your own personal painting style while deepening your artistic technique and authentic self-expression.

You will need:
- Watercolor Paper (any size you prefer and preferably 140 lbs, but 90 lbs will be fine)
- Watercolor Paint Set
- Paint Palette
- Watercolor Brushes (variety of rounds and flats)
- cup/jar for water
- Painter's Blue Tape
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Sakura Pigma Micron Black Pen
- Optional: Masking Fluid
- Special Note: We recommend Blick Art Materials, but you may use any brand you like.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Class tuition is neither non-refundable nor transferable. No refunds will be issued after registration and payment. In case of a Medically Certified illness, a credit will be issued after receipt of your physician’s documentation. The value of the credit will be for the balance of the remaining class sessions with an additional deduction of a $95 registration fee. Credit may be used up to 12 months.
If after your first class you are dissatisfied with the quality of your course, a written note must be submitted within 1 business day after your first class. After receiving your note, refund of class tuition will be reviewed by our staff. If a refund is granted, processing of refunds requires 8-10 weeks. A 5% nonrefundable processing fee will be applied.
Course Cancellations
Although course cancellation is quite rare, The school reserves the right to cancel classes or change instructor assignments and makes every effort to notify students in advance. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be canceled up to 1 business day before the first scheduled class. In the event of cancellation, a refund or credit is granted. On occasion, a course start-date will be pushed back if enrollment goals are not met. In this instance, you will receive a credit for the price of the class that did not take place.
Please note that there will be NO exceptions to this under any circumstances.
Make-up Policy
Unfortunately, The school does not offer any makeups for classes missed. However, if the student wants to get the most from the course and the absence, they can tell the instructor when they will be absent and the instructor can provide some guidance on exercises to practice while away.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
