CompTIA Network+ Certification (Virtual)

CompTIA Network+ is an entry level network installation and repair certification for IT professionals. The network+ certification validates a technician's ability to describe the features and functions of networking components, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, and describe networking protocols and services.

Network + Exam

Students must pass one exam, with 90 questions in 90 minutes to become Network+ certified. Students must gain a 720 (on a scale of 100-900) or better on the exam to pass. This course teaches exam N10-008.

Network + Course Labs

This course prepares students for exam using a series lectures, and hands on labs to get students ready for the exam. Some of the hands on labs will include setting up a workgroup network, sharing files and printers, setting permissions on network shares, configuring IP addressing and subnetting a network, configuring a wireless router and switch, and securing network devices with a firewall.

• Given a scenario, use appropriate documentation and diagrams to manage the network.
• Compare and contrast business continuity and disaster recovery concepts.
• Explain common scanning, monitoring and patching processes and summarize their expected outputs.
• Given a scenario, use remote access methods.
• Identify policies and best practices.

• Summarize the purposes of physical security devices.
• Explain authentication and access controls.
• Given a scenario, secure a basic wireless network.
