This long-established creative writing workshop, successfully operating since 2003, now meets online via Zoom to bring dynamic generative writing practice directly into your personal creative space. Unlock your full creative potential, produce surprising and original work that will astonish you, and develop dramatically stronger scene-writing skills and techniques throughout this immersive course.

Enthusiastically open to writers of all genres, styles, and experience levels, from brand new to advanced.

This interactive workshop emphasizes hands-on active writing rather than passive lecture-based instruction. We collectively select all writing prompts based on weekly themes, educational value, craft development principles, or creative exploration. Since each piece you write is freshly created during the session, we focus exclusively on constructive feedback and enthusiastic recognition of each work's creative potential rather than detailed critique. You will receive practical, applicable techniques for improving narrative craft and structure, and through thoughtful prompts and engaging craft discussions, you will write passages and pieces you never would have created alone while gaining applicable creative writing tools.

  • Skill Level: Enthusiastically open to all writers 18 years and older
  • Class Size: Purposefully capped at 8 participants for quality interaction
  • Prerequisites: None whatsoever required
  • Format: Fully online via Zoom video conferencing

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Since we have a variety of services, we have different refund policies for each service, but we reserve the right to deduct registration and/or bank fees for each refund.

ONLINE & IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS

For one-day workshops:

  • You must cancel 2 business days in advance of the workshop to receive a refund less 5% cancellation fee. The sooner you let us know, the better so that we can fill your seat.
  • If you tell us less than 2 business days before the start of the workshop, we will, on special occasions, allow you to roll over your registration to a future workshop.

For multiple-week workshops (workshops that meet more than once):

  • You must cancel 8 business days before the day the workshop begins. The sooner you let us know, the better.

ONLINE EMAIL COURSES, AUDIO COURSES & WRITING CHALLENGES

There are no refunds for online email workshops, audio courses, and online writing challenges. However, we may be able to roll your registration fee over to another workshop or a comparable coaching session.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
