Master the past tense in Spanish through this comprehensive course covering regular preterit conjugations, the distinction and idiomatic uses of prepositions por and para, and direct object pronouns. You will also learn to construct and use formal commands for giving instructions and making polite requests.
After completing Spanish 5, you will confidently discuss past events, give clear instructions or directions, and express concepts such as purpose ("in order to"), causation ("because of"), and direct objects ("I see him," "she has them").
Materials Options: Select either a printed textbook with an audio file (requiring advance pickup) or a PDF with an audio file. If you choose PDF format, having the ability to print a copy yourself or use a second device to view the materials during class is helpful.
Class Preparation: The day before class, you will receive your electronic materials, and the instructor will email your Zoom link. Log on 5 to 10 minutes early to ensure you are ready when class begins. If you experience technical difficulties with the link, visit Zoom.us, click "Join a Meeting," and enter the meeting ID from the instructor's email.
Technical Requirements: A stable internet connection and a device with camera and microphone capabilities are necessary for full participation.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
