This language arts class will center around The House at Pooh Corner chapter book, and it will be full of engaging topics&activities that will appeal to a range of ages.
Students will be inspired while growing in their love for great literature and sharpening their language skills. This class will include nature study, simple arts and crafts, and a focus on the eight parts of speech, prepositions, adjectives, and adverbs.
Chapters 1-5 will be covered, and we will read the chapters together during class time. As poetry improves language skills, sparks creative thinking, and helps listeners memorize words, we will also incorporate a simple yet engaging look at poetry.
This 4-week class can be combined with the following 4-week Language Arts & Literature with The House at Pooh Corner class or be taken as a stand-alone class.
Materials:
- Students will need The House at Pooh Corner, by A.A. Milne, unabridged.
- They will also need a notebook,
- a thesaurus (printed book),
- craft pages provided & basic supplies
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
