This is a year-long class. We will start with a review of all operations with integers. We will then move into combining like terms, and writing & solving 1-step, 2-step and multi-step equations and inequalities, and absolute value inequalities. We will spend some time with the rules of exponents, including negative exponents. We will perform all operations with polynomials. We will be spending some time with linear equations and systems of equations and their graphs before moving onto all operations with rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, and quadratic equations & functions.
Of course, we would never leave out uniform motion problems cause if two trains leave the station traveling at different speeds, you need to know how long it will take them to be at the same place!
We will use the following textbook, which can be purchased used: McGraw Hill Algebra 1 Common Core, California edition.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
