If it were an American state, British Columbia would be our fifth largest producer of wine, just behind Oregon. It’s growing regions range from the verdant Vancouver Island to the gorgeous, lake-strung Okanagan Valley. It offers convincing wines from international varieties, such as Cabernet Franc and Gewurtztraminer, but also delightful wines from little-known hybrid grapes.
Learn all about BC—and Idaho which has a surprising number of wineries. Coverage will include climates, soils, unique geographical features and details on every AVA. And we’ll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum.
This unit is the fourth part of the Northwest Wine Appellation Specialist program.
Zoomers will have tasting kits they can either pickup or have delivered for an additional fee. View wine pickup and delivery options.
