Take your artwork to the next level as you continue to experiment and learn about a wide variety of art materials, fundamental art techniques and personal style. Express your unique, creative point of view through a combination of papers, textures, paint, color, layers, found objects and more! Further develop your creative practice and take new risks while receiving supportive, non-judgmental, individualized instruction and one-on-one guidance from a professional artist based on your personal needs and interests.
This intermediate level art class inspires you to learn, explore and experiment with mixed-media art while connecting to community and creating many personalized pieces of artwork to feel proud of.
In this Intermediate Collage, Painting and Mixed-Media Art Class, YOU will:
- Deepen your artistic practice while further exploring and learning about artistic techniques in collage, painting, mixed-media, and a wide variety of art supplies.
- Explore, practice and improve upon foundational techniques, including: color, tone/value, texture usage, traditional and non-traditional materials usage, composition, glazing, brushwork, personal imagery, paint application, the art of combining art mediums, and more!
- Learn new weekly art class techniques with hands-on demonstrations.
- Receive customized, one-on-one expert art instruction based on your personal needs and interests.
- Learn in our encouraging, intimidation-free, non-judgmental art studio.
- Feel inspired by subject matter as you discover your own voice through: abstraction, realism, landscape, the human figure, art history, and personally chosen subject matter.
- Create multiple artworks that you will be proud to hang in your home!
- Connect meaningfully with like-minded students and give and receive feedback about improving your artwork.

Art Class Materials:
Materials are not included.
You will need:
- an Acrylic Paint Set,
- Paint Brushes (variety of sizes),
- Palette Knife,
- Paint Palette,
- 2-4 canvases (canvas boards or stretched),
- Cup/Jar for Water,
- Matte Medium
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Class tuition is neither non-refundable nor transferable. No refunds will be issued after registration and payment. In case of a Medically Certified illness, a credit will be issued after receipt of your physician’s documentation. The value of the credit will be for the balance of the remaining class sessions with an additional deduction of a $95 registration fee. Credit may be used up to 12 months.
If after your first class you are dissatisfied with the quality of your course, a written note must be submitted within 1 business day after your first class. After receiving your note, refund of class tuition will be reviewed by our staff. If a refund is granted, processing of refunds requires 8-10 weeks. A 5% nonrefundable processing fee will be applied.
Course Cancellations
Although course cancellation is quite rare, The school reserves the right to cancel classes or change instructor assignments and makes every effort to notify students in advance. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be canceled up to 1 business day before the first scheduled class. In the event of cancellation, a refund or credit is granted. On occasion, a course start-date will be pushed back if enrollment goals are not met. In this instance, you will receive a credit for the price of the class that did not take place.
Please note that there will be NO exceptions to this under any circumstances.
Make-up Policy
Unfortunately, The school does not offer any makeups for classes missed. However, if the student wants to get the most from the course and the absence, they can tell the instructor when they will be absent and the instructor can provide some guidance on exercises to practice while away.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
