What you'll learn in this photoshop class:

Photoshop Level 2: Advanced and New Features is for those who want to take their Photoshop skills to the next level. Professional retouching techniques, nondestructive filtering and more will be covered. In addition, we will cover the advanced features of Photoshop.

Class Prerequisite: Adobe Photoshop Level 1 or equivalent experience.

New Features
  • Choosing between the new "Dark Interface" or setting it to a lighter option in Preferences 
  • Enlarging the size of the user interface text 
  • Pixel snapping and REAL vector layers 
  • New layer searchability by type, kind, name, effect, mode or attribute 
  • Cropping images using non-destructive cropping
  • Cropping with perspective 
  • Visually cropping with: Rule of Thirds, Grid, Diagonal, Triangle, Golden Ratio or Golden Spiral 
  • Text changes: Character Styles: Defines attributes derived from the Character panel such as font size, kerning, leading and paragraph styles: Control both character and paragraph attributes including alignment, spacing, indents. 
  • Incorporating Metadata that transcends across all Adobe applications 
  • Using the Bridge Center to buy stock photos & saving files in a group 
  • How Mini Bridge differes from Bridge 
  • Use stacks to organize multiple versions of the same file, group related files, or gather files to send to Photoshop or Illustrator for batch processing.
  • Zooming in on images with the Loupe tool 
Image Correction
  • Working extensively with the Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush and Patch tools 
  • Using the Clone Source panel to rotate, align, and create up to 5 Clone sources 
  • Changes in the Sharpen, Dodge & Burn tools 
  • Advanced Adjustment Layer techniques using the Adjustments panel 
  • Magically filling areas with Content Aware Fill and Content Aware Move 
  • Working with the new Vibrance Adjustment layer from Camera Raw to minimize clipping of blues and greens
  • Using an Adjustment Layer to affect only a portion of the image with a Layer Mask

Image Manipulation
  • Increasing the sharpness of a scan using Unsharp Mask & Smart Sharpen as opposed to Sharpen or Sharpen More
  • Applying Content Aware Scaling to keep the integrity of objects while scaling lower detail of background areas
  • Creating Panoramas with Auto Align/Auto Blend and loading files into stacks 
  • Using the Match Color feature to make two images have the same lighting 
  • Using the History Brush 
  • Working with the History Brush to go back in time to revert a portion of your image 
  • Creating new 3D shapes from layers and mapping images onto preset shapes 
  • Turning existing images into a full 3D image 
Creative Techniques with Filters, Brushes, and Vanishing Point
  • Using Filters & combining Filters for maximum effect
  • Using the Liquify features & freezing/thawing areas to retouch 
  • Using the Filter Gallery to apply multiple filters at once
  • Creating multiple planes in an image with Vanishing Point to connect them at any angle, and then wrap graphics, text, and images around them to create packaging mock-ups and more 
  • Working with Faux HDR Toning

  • Using the Mixer Brush and working with Bristle Tips
