Sustainable Streets is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote active transportation, such as walking and bicycling, in order to to help build healthy, vibrant, livable communities.
Sustainable Streets seeks to make active transportation accessible to everyone through individual-level training, public education and advocacy of complete streets policies. Our long-term goal is for communities to adopt sustainable, active transportation practices that optimize their health and quality of life. We believe that communities must assure pedestrians and bicyclists at least as much safety and convenience on public rights of way as are currently provided to operators of motorized passenger vehicles.
Sustainable Streets envisions streetscapes and transportation systems that harmonize community, nature and the human spirit, to support social interaction, resource efficiency, physical activity and health.
The two instructors were very knowledgeable and took their time with each participant. I highly recommended this class!
It’s an awesome experience with instructors who actually derive joy in teaching people to ride bicycles. There’s no pressure either. You learn at your own pace and they give you great tips to help you along the way. Definitely worth trying if you need to learn.
