Cheryl Reiff became fascinated with yoga philosophy and asana in the mid 1960s, at the age of 15, when she caught a glimpse of a Yogi in an old movie. She asked all the adults she knew, "What is Yoga?" No one knew. Being totally intrigued, she was determined to find out. Her mom took her to the Pearl Harbor Navy Library where the wise librarian led her straight away to two old Yoga philosophy books. Cheryl devoured them, fully resonating with the philosophical aspects, loving the physical aspects, and even able to convince her preacher father that it was not a threat to Christianity. Henceforward, she devoured every Yoga book she could find.
