Description
A Gentle Way Yoga & Joyful Movement Center has served the yoga community in San Diego County, in a very unique way, for over 20 years.
As a health and healing center, our special yoga studio is all about living joyfully, moving joyfully, and aging joyfully with grace and ease. A Gentle Way Yoga is dedicated to helping break down the prejudices we hold about ourselves first, so that we can then let go of the prejudices we hold against others; whether it be based on body size, gender, skin color, age, or religion. Through the many practices of yoga, we find that when we break free of these false restraints - we experience freer and more fulfilling lives!
Most Yoga Studios offer classes primarily for the fit-keeping-fit, and while we do serve many dedicated students who fall into this category, we originally opened our doors to serve the needs of:
Due to this growth and popularity, A Gentle Way Yoga Center became an official Yoga Studio in 2001. Lanita invited a small, dedicated group of experienced instructors to join her in teaching to the East County yoga community. Currently, our teachers have a collective experience of well over 125 years, in many different styles of yoga.
We are a comfortable, friendly, neighborhood Yoga Studio that specializes in Aalamba (Yoga with Support), and MIMSY (Meditation in Movement Style Yoga). We also offer classes in Classical Hatha Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Slow Flow Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Curvy and Plus Size Bodies, and Breath Meditation Classes. Basically - yoga for just about every need!

- Students who do not believe they can do yoga
- Students who feel intimidated by faster paced yoga
- Students who have been injured in traditional exercise settings or in other yoga classes
- Students who need safer pose modifications due to size, age, or health conditions
