Join for an Introduction to Ceramics with artist and educator, Alyson Iwamoto! In this class, students will learn foundational techniques for handbuilt ceramics in an explorative, playful and creative learning environment.
Students are welcome to make anything they would like throughout the duration of the workshop and will learn pinch pots, coil building, slab building, surface decoration and glazing.
Potential pieces to be made… functional objects, creatures, musical instruments, masks, miniatures, wall hangings, sculptures, things from your dreams, real or imagined, the sky's the limit.
All tools and materials are included. All pieces will be fired and ready to be displayed in the culmination exhibition on Saturday, November 1st from 5-7pm. All pieces that are glazed will be food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Culmination Exhibit: Saturday, November 1st from 5-7pm
Health, Safety & Accessibility
To ensure a safe space for everyone, we require masks for all programming. We ask that participants provide their own N95 or KN95 masks, we also have adult and youth masks available at the studio.
Masks protect us from airborne infection, along with clay & glaze dust that can become harmful with longterm inhalation. We ask that everyone work with us, so that we can collectively create a safe environment for all.
Our property is ADA accessible. The bathroom has 3 steps and a ramp can be fitted upon request. On-site parking is available when needed along with other accommodations. Please reach out with any questions or requests to [email protected].
