What you'll learn in this calligraphy class:
Calligraphy is said to be defined as “beautiful writing” in Greek. Join this introductory workshop where you will learn the art and structure of modern calligraphy or “beautiful writing”. You will begin by learning which tools to use and how to use them at a beginner level. Warm up exercises will loosen up your greatest tools, (your hands) as well as helping you learn basic strokes. You will work through an entire alphabet (upper and lower case) learning ways to develop your own style. You will leave this class excited to practice your new skills.
Students will learn the basics of calligraphy including:
Skill requirements: This workshop is designed for those with no previous experience with pointed pen or modern calligraphy.
Material requirements: $20 Calligraphy kit fee payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop.Your kit is filled with everything you need to practice during the workshop, and additional kits will be available to purchase from the instructor so you can continue your calligraphy journey at home.
Location instructions: We are located inside the "Community" shopping center with plenty of free parking. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the start of your workshop to sign-in and find your seat.

- Intro to pointed pen calligraphy tools and how to use them.
- The concept of pressure and release for thin upstrokes and thick downstrokes.
- How to structure an entire alphabet (uppercase & lowercase)
- The beginnings of developing your own calligraphy style.

Refund Policy
We require notification of cancellation 1 week prior to scheduled date for a refund. Less than 1 week notification will receive studio credit to be applied toward a future class, and notification less than 48 hours from scheduled date will receive no credit.
Some workshops require a minimum number of registered students. If we don't meet that minimum, we will contact you at least 48 hours in advance and will offer you your choice of a full refund or studio credit.
