Welcome to Build & Bond, an imaginative and collaborative workshop where adults and children work together to create a custom dollhouse of their dreams. This creative experience fosters teamwork, imaginative thinking, and STEAM learning for participants of all ages.
Each adult-child partnership embarks on a journey of architectural design and playful decoration, with instructors providing guidance in design fundamentals, basic circuitry, and fiber arts techniques. Participants brainstorm ideas, drawing from diverse architectural styles while learning engineering and design principles. The creative process then expands into decoration, where you'll select from diverse materials, including fabrics and paints, to construct miniature furnishings that bring your vision to life.
No prior experience is necessary for this workshop, which welcomes all skill levels. Our instructors provide a supportive, encouraging learning environment where every participant feels empowered. By the end of the session, you'll take home a custom dollhouse you created alongside your child, plus cherished memories of a unique bonding experience.
This workshop enhances both creativity and STEAM capabilities while deepening the connection between adult and child through shared creative problem-solving and accomplishment.
Workshop Notes:
Classes are designed to be developmentally appropriate for the specified age range, ensuring that each child feels successful and confident rather than overwhelmed. To support this goal, children must be at least 6 years old to participate.
Class Requirements:
Our workshops frequently involve messy, hands-on creative processes, particularly during STEAM and process art activities. We regularly use paint, adhesive materials such as resin and clay, and tools including screwdrivers and cardboard saws. Please dress children in clothing that can withstand potential stains that may not wash out.
