Description

Join smartphone expert Elody Crimi for an exciting afternoon at the National Sculpture Garden to learn how to take great photos with your Smartphone camera.

Topics include:

an introduction to the basic (and advanced) functions of your phone;
how to use little know features to drastically improve your photography;
an overview of the most important rules of composition and how/why they affect your photos (with plenty of examples);
a demonstration of various applications you can use to help process and edit your photos (right from your phone);
a demonstration/walk-through of all the various peripherals (lens, lights, etc.) that are available for your phone.

Prerequisite: Workshop is for all levels.

In the event of rain, the safari will be moved to the Kogod Courtyard at the National Portrait Gallery.

What to Bring:

A charged Smartphone: Any brand is OK (likely iPhone or Galaxy)
Phone charger (just in case!)
Pen and Paper

Where to Meet:

Meet outside the gate entrance to the Cafe at the National Sculpture Garden at 8th and Constitution Ave NW. Closest METRO is Navy/Archives on the Green/Yellow Line, and limited street parking is available. (Detailed information will be provided 4-5 days prior to the workshop.)

Refund Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing via email at least 10 business days prior to Safari date to [email protected]
Cancellations received 9 business days or more in advance of Safari date receive a refund of 75% of the amount paid.
No refund is made for cancellations received less than 9 business days before the Safari date.

Washington Photo Safari operates rain or shine. A separate itinerary is followed on rain or snow days, utilizing landmarks with unique photogenic interiors, such as The National Building Museum, Union Station, The National Postal Museum, The Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial.

In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non refundable registration fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
