Photoshoot of Cherry Blossoms along the Tidal Basin
Springtime in DC means cherry blossoms, and one of the best places to shoot them is along the Tidal Basin!
On this DC photo tour and safari, we teach the principles of travel photography and camera use by wending our way slowly along the Tidal Basin path towards the Jefferson Memorial. We show you great views of the Tidal Basin, Washington Monument, FDR Monument and MLK Jr Memorial, as well as our secret “Our Lady of the Blossoms Cherry Tree” all framed in the afternoon sun.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is the nation’s greatest springtime celebration. The Festival includes three spectacular weeks and four weekends of tours featuring diverse and creative programming promoting traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit. Visit nationalcherryblossomfestival.org for more information, and find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
We bring you to all the best trees for cherry blossom portraiture and to the beautiful George Mason Memorial near the Jefferson. Non-photographer friends/spouses are welcome to accompany you at no charge.
Disclaimer: Cherry blossoms safaris this year are subject to cancellation, depending upon any COVID restrictions that may be imposed by Mayor of DC and National Park Service, If safaris are cancelled, a full refund or rain check credit will be provided. Mother Nature has her own way of scheduling the blossoms. Some years they come early in the season, some years they come later. We cannot guarantee full blossoms on the trees on the day of your Safari, but we DO guarantee very useful tips on travel photography and views of the Tidal Basin that are always pretty.
