Julie initially found yoga when searching for a way to relieve stress. This flirtation with some basic flows quickly blossomed into a daily practice and a deep passion for movement. Julie’s personal practice is rooted in the precision and strength of the Ashtanga lineage, and she loves abandoning the need to control and absorbing the group energy created in a powerful vinyasa class. When she’s not on her mat, Julie loves to hike, wander Ocean Beach, or catch a concert and is a sucker for a beautiful, sunny day.  

Julie decided to expand her practice while living in Nashville in 2013, completing a 200-hour Yoga Alliance-approved teacher training. She moved to Phoenix in 2014 and quickly immersed herself in the yoga community there, teaching vinyasa, power yoga, yin & restorative, and foundations classes at local studios. Julie moved to San Diego at the end of 2016 and has been excited to connect with her new yoga community.

As a teacher, Julie enjoys creating dynamic sequences that help keep students present in their practice, teaching the body to move through new pathways to find familiar places. Having personally experienced many of the physical and psychological benefits that can come from regular practice, Julie firmly believes that yoga has something to offer everyone to make them feel happier and healthier. Julie endeavors to share the love and joy that yoga has brought into her life and to help inspire others with the simplicity and beauty of breath linked to movement.
