Have you ever thought about turning your life’s trials and tribulations into a NY Times bestseller? In this seven-week Los Angeles Memoir Writing Workshop, bestselling memoirist Wendy Lawless will share her secrets for turning your life’s twists and turns into lively drama! Her fun, all new in-class exercises will help you infuse your most fascinating memories with authenticity and personality. She’ll cover crucial topics such as how to craft a compelling emotional journey for your main character, digging deep, and writing with vivid, compelling detail.

By the end of the class, you’ll have written a stack of moving scenes and have blended imagination with history to craft a draft of a memoir piece that is uniquely yours! Plus, you can bring in up to 1200 words every other class for feedback. Experienced and beginning writers welcome.

Question from Erick R.
Aside from the obvious price for one class versus seven, why are there two options. Is the first class only as a teaser and the remaining seven the complete course? Also, I have some material already started would that be used or would the classes be just to refine, in other words will the instructor not look at material already started? Thank you.
Answer from Billy C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
The 1 night class is just a short seminar with lecture and writing exercises (with limited sharing of results) on memoir fundamentals. The 7 week class has craft lessons, writing samples, in class writing and the opportunity to get feedback on 1200 words every other class. If you have some writing that you want to bring in that you already started, you can do that for the in class workshopping section after the first meeting of the 7 week class.
