Description

Photochemical film developing doesn’t need to be toxic for the environment!

Join T.A.P.E. Los Angeles for a comprehensive introduction to shooting Super 8 film and processing your footage by hand using coffee, beer and plants! Learn what goes into alternative photo processing and dive into the exciting world of sustainable and accessible darkroom practices! This is multiple workshops in one, all equipment and materials provided, and all levels of experience with either filmmaking or photochemical developing are welcome.

This workshop will cover the ins and outs of common shared features between most Super 8 cameras, purchasing used cameras, using different film stocks, processing houses and hand processing options available to independent filmmakers.

Participants will shoot 2 cartridges of black and white Super 8 film and develop it by hand using coffee and herbal developers mixed together as a group. Everyone will receive a 2K scan of the results afterwards! Come join in on the fun of personal and experimental filmmaking on Super 8mm film!

Refund Policy

You may cancel for a refund up to 21 days before the workshop. After that, workshop fees are not refundable or transferable.

We reserve the right cancel or reschedule a workshop with fewer than 4 sign ups. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will receive a refund.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
