Designed for students with no prior knowledge of Portuguese, the Beginner I course teaches how to communicate in simple everyday situations. While the emphasis of the course is on developing speaking proficiency, it also introduces basic grammar concepts and teaches beginning reading skills. Upon completion of the course students will be able to participate in simple daily interactions. Students will also be able to understand basic information intended for tourists.

Refund Policy:
Students may withdraw from the course at any time. The ICLS Group Evening Class Refund Policy is in the table below.
Withdrawal Period Refund
Before Registration Ends 100% of Tuition Paid
After Registration Closes and Before the 3rd Class 50% of Tuition Paid
After the 3rd Class No Refund
The student must notify ICLS immediately upon the decision to withdraw and complete the Student Withdrawal Form which is available from the school's Business Office to initiate a request for a refund. Refunds will be issued within ten (10) business days.
Absence Policy
Group Classes continue as scheduled even if a student is absent from the class. An individual student who does not attend a class will not be able to make up the missed hours. Please note that each instructional hour is 50 minutes in length.
Cancellation Policy
ICLS reserves the right to cancel a class due to a lack of enrollment. In the case of lack of enrollment the tuition, materials (if purchased), and registration fee will be refunded. Group Classes continue as scheduled even if a student is absent from the class. An individual student who does not attend a class will not be able to make up the missed hours even if 24-hour notice is given. Please note that each instructional hour is 50 minutes in length.
