Patsy Croft, of Alohi Lani Designs, specializes in cloisonné enameling, the ancient art of applying fine enamels to precious metals. Patsy is a self taught enamelist, full time studio artist and teacher, and a fine arts graduate of Florida State University. She is inspired by our planet’s beautiful oceans, reefs and wildlife, and she hopes to transfer her affection and appreciation to others through her exquisite artwork. Her belief is that we should cherish all things special and do our best not contribute to the wastes of mass production.

She has become recognized for meticulous quality and attention to detail with her exquisitely colorful and uniquely designed jewelry. Her work is in numerous private collections and she has exhibited her work in Atlanta, Georgia, Honolulu, Hawaii and Melbourne and Sidney, Australia. Her gold cloisonné was awarded as “Best of Show” at the SNAG Conference in Florida.

“A piece of jewelry is a timeless treasure, just as our finds are in nature. Driven from the passion of the masters, inspired by the beauty I see in nature, I create jewels of the highest quality that are always unique. I enjoy working with people to discover what their passions are and incorporate their beauty into a wearable work of art.

Her job requires patience. The tedious method of creating the design template in metals and then firing many layers of enamel for each piece.

With a body of work inspired by her travels and love of nature, Patsy has earned a national reputation for her jewelry line, Alohi Lani Designs. Her timeless, sophisticated pieces sell in a number of high-end locations, including Nordstrom in Hawaii, Abaco Gold in Key West, Gold Chest in Grand Caymans, Makers Mark Sydney, Australia and Master’s Touch in Wakawau Hawaii. She’s been recognized by the American Craft Council, and the Society of National American Goldsmiths. She’s even designed a piece for Andre Benjamin of the popular hip hop group Outkast, for his Grammy album after he spotted her work in an Atlanta jewelry gallery.
