Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable – but they may be transferred to another group prior to your scheduled event, subject to the requirements outlined below. If you need to change your date, please provide as much notice as possible — ideally at least one week. If you want to give your rebooking credit to another group, we will honor that. We ask that, if you need to rebook, you do so within one year of the original booking.

Rebooking or Transfer Notice Requirements:

If you request to postpone or transfer your event with fewer than 72 hours’ notice, a rebooking premium of $150 per 20 participants will apply, calculated proportionally (e.g., $225 for 30 participants, $300 for 40, etc.). A minimum fee of $150 will apply for groups smaller than 20 participants.

Participants may be added to your booking at any time prior to the event. Additional charges will apply based on the current rate per participant, due before the event begins.

We plan and staff our events based on the confirmed participant count provided in advance, so all final numbers must be established prior to the event. We do not conduct headcounts on-site or adjust the final cost based on actual attendance. Once an event has taken place, no portion of the booking is transferrable or eligible for future credit.

Outdoor events may be moved indoors for any reason, including inclement weather, pending availability. We request at least 24 hours’ notice for any change of hunt selection. If a museum hunt is selected, museum admission is sold separately.

In the event of a force majeure — such as a public transportation shutdown, city-wide emergency, or government-issued order advising people to stay home — your event will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed future date.

Description

Explore the world's most famous urban park on an exciting, clue-driven team competition that your group will still be talking about long after the day is done.

Navigate Central Park's hills and paths as a team, solving clues about sculptures, architecture, film locations, memorials and the stories behind its landmarks.

Central Park's 843 acres are entirely man-made, a remarkable feat of landscape architecture that creates a genuinely magical environment for a high-energy, intellectually stimulating team competition. This experience offers discoveries that lifelong New Yorkers consistently find surprising.

Your adventure begins at the Pulitzer Fountain in front of The Plaza Hotel. In a race against the clock and other teams, you will:

  • Explore the Arsenal and the Delacorte Clock, with its enchanting parade of animals that chimes on the hour
  • Find the statue of Balto the Sled Dog and seek out a remarkable 'Treehouse for Dreaming'
  • Seek out memorial flagpoles, a Pilgrim monument, a hidden sundial, and a figure connected to one of the earliest long-distance communication codes
  • Search for hidden engravings in the Alice in Wonderland and Hans Christian Andersen sculptures and discover the stories behind the artists who made them
  • Investigate the iconic Boathouse, Bethesda Fountain, Bandshell, The Mall, and the Literary Walk
  • Explore The Dairy, the Carousel, the Chess and Checkers House, and the little-known rustic retreat called the Cop Cot

Even people who have lived in New York their entire lives will make new discoveries here. This is the kind of hands-on exploration that a standard park tour simply cannot replicate.

How the Central Park Scavenger Hunt Works:

Our scavenger hunt is a strategic, collaborative, and communicative team game in which teams work together to solve clues, complete challenges, and outsmart the competition. Here is what to expect:

  • We design, staff, and fully operate the hunt. You arrive and compete. Our team manages everything in person from start to finish, serving as game masters, scorekeepers, and judges throughout the event.

Booking:

  • Choose a date, time, and participant count. We will send a booking confirmation and invoice. Once confirmed, you are on our calendar, and we will stay in touch to answer questions and accommodate any special requests.

Before the Hunt:

  • Our staff will contact your group leader one to two days before the event to confirm all logistical details.

On the Day:

  • We will be at the designated starting point ahead of your group's arrival. Teams of 4 to 6 participants are formed. You are welcome to pre-arrange your teams if you prefer.

The Start:

  • After teams are formed, we provide a quick overview of the rules. This is a real competition, and one team will win.
    • Groups stay together at all times.
    • Bold words in clues indicate where to look.
    • The hunt runs for a maximum of 2 hours, but teams can finish early.
    • Teams plot their own routes. Clues can be tackled in any order.
    • Photo and video challenges are completed on team phones and are worth points.
    • The highest-scoring team wins; arrival time breaks ties.
    • Do not overlook the phrase puzzle on the final page, as it is worth significant points.
    • Searching online for answers is not an effective strategy.

Teams receive their clue packets, clipboards, and pens. The race begins.

Teams will read, discuss, and plan before setting off. Thoughtful strategy at the start is one of the most reliable paths to victory. Our staff is available throughout for support and guidance.

Conclusion:

As the hunt ends, teams meet our staff at the designated endpoint. We tally scores, announce the winners, and can award optional prizes to the victorious team. We are happy to field any remaining questions about clues or results.

Rain or shine, this hunt runs without interruption. The varied terrain of Central Park - open lawns, shaded footpaths, architectural landmarks, and hidden memorials - keeps the experience engaging and varied from first clue to last. Teams that take time to read ahead before setting off consistently finish with higher scores and a richer experience of everything the park has to offer.

Join us for an unforgettable exploration of Central Park, where every clue opens a new chapter of the city's extraordinary story.

The hunt was a great experience for our team. The instructions were clear, there were plenty of clues to uncover, and we learned a lot of interesting things along the way. It was more challenging than we expected, which made it all the more rewarding.
