Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable – but they may be transferred to another group prior to your scheduled event, subject to the requirements outlined below. If you need to change your date, please provide as much notice as possible — ideally at least one week. If you want to give your rebooking credit to another group, we will honor that. We ask that, if you need to rebook, you do so within one year of the original booking.

Rebooking or Transfer Notice Requirements:

If you request to postpone or transfer your event with fewer than 72 hours’ notice, a rebooking premium of $150 per 20 participants will apply, calculated proportionally (e.g., $225 for 30 participants, $300 for 40, etc.). A minimum fee of $150 will apply for groups smaller than 20 participants.

Participants may be added to your booking at any time prior to the event. Additional charges will apply based on the current rate per participant, due before the event begins.

We plan and staff our events based on the confirmed participant count provided in advance, so all final numbers must be established prior to the event. We do not conduct headcounts on-site or adjust the final cost based on actual attendance. Once an event has taken place, no portion of the booking is transferrable or eligible for future credit.

Outdoor events may be moved indoors for any reason, including inclement weather, pending availability. We request at least 24 hours’ notice for any change of hunt selection. If a museum hunt is selected, museum admission is sold separately.

In the event of a force majeure — such as a public transportation shutdown, city-wide emergency, or government-issued order advising people to stay home — your event will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed future date.

Description

Lower Manhattan is where New York City, and in many ways the United States itself, began. Once known as New Amsterdam under Dutch colonial rule, this compact neighborhood contains a remarkable density of historical significance: the site of George Washington's presidential inauguration, the birthplace of American finance, and the location of battles, treaties, and transformations that shaped a nation. This scavenger hunt brings it all to life.

Your quest begins at Evacuation Day Plaza. In a thrilling race against time and competing teams, you will:

  • Uncover the layered history of Bowling Green, New York City's oldest public park
  • Encounter the iconic Charging Bull on Wall Street and explore the symbolism and stories behind it
  • Explore Battery Park's collection of monuments and war memorials, each with its own compelling narrative
  • Investigate Castle Clinton, the historic fortification that once guarded New York Harbor
  • Discover the profound significance of Fraunces Tavern, the site of key moments in American Revolutionary history
  • Navigate the storied blocks of Wall Street, the center of American finance for more than two centuries
  • Visit Trinity Church, a national landmark with a deep connection to one of America's founding fathers
  • And much more throughout the district

Our Lower Manhattan Historic scavenger hunt is a test of strategy, teamwork, and communication, requiring teams to collaborate closely to decipher clues, solve puzzles, and outmaneuver their competitors.

How it works: We orchestrate, staff, and manage every element of the hunt. You simply show up and dive in.

Booking is simple: select your date, time, and participant count, and we will handle everything from there.

Prior to the hunt, our team reaches out to your group leader to confirm details and answer any remaining questions.

On the day, we are on-site early, ready to gather your group, form teams of 4 to 6 participants, and deliver a brief overview of the rules before the adventure officially begins. Teams strategize, navigate, and work together throughout the hunt, with our staff available along the route for guidance and support.

As the hunt concludes, teams reconvene for scoring, winner announcements, and prize distribution.

This hunt runs rain or shine. Its combination of outdoor plazas, covered passages, and notable indoor landmarks makes it adaptable to any weather conditions your group encounters on the day. Our staff is on hand throughout to offer support, and prizes can be arranged for the winning team at the end of the event.

Join us for an unforgettable journey through the foundational heart of New York City and American history.

The hunt was a great experience for our team. The instructions were clear, there were plenty of clues to uncover, and we learned a lot of interesting things along the way. It was more challenging than we expected, which made it all the more rewarding.
