PoliciesPrice Match GuaranteeIf you find a similar event with a competitor at a lower price, we’ll gladly match it. This applies to events of comparable description and duration. Simply provide the details when booking, or within 72 hours of your booking, and we’ll ensure you get the best value. Contact an event concierge to get started. Cancellation PolicyBookings are non-refundable – but they may be transferred to another group prior to your scheduled event, subject to the requirements outlined below. If you need to change your date, please provide as much notice as possible — ideally at least one week. If you want to give your rebooking credit to another group, we will honor that. We ask that, if you need to rebook, you do so within one year of the original booking. Rebooking or Transfer Notice Requirements: If you request to postpone or transfer your event with fewer than 72 hours’ notice, a rebooking premium of $150 per 20 participants will apply, calculated proportionally (e.g., $225 for 30 participants, $300 for 40, etc.). A minimum fee of $150 will apply for groups smaller than 20 participants. Participants may be added to your booking at any time prior to the event. Additional charges will apply based on the current rate per participant, due before the event begins. We plan and staff our events based on the confirmed participant count provided in advance, so all final numbers must be established prior to the event. We do not conduct headcounts on-site or adjust the final cost based on actual attendance. Once an event has taken place, no portion of the booking is transferrable or eligible for future credit. Outdoor events may be moved indoors for any reason, including inclement weather, pending availability. We request at least 24 hours’ notice for any change of hunt selection. If a museum hunt is selected, museum admission is sold separately. In the event of a force majeure — such as a public transportation shutdown, city-wide emergency, or government-issued order advising people to stay home — your event will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed future date. |

Explore the Flatiron District from Madison Square Park to Union Square through clues about its history, architecture, literary landmarks and food destinations.
Join the Fortunes of the Flatiron District scavenger hunt, where teams race through the dynamic streets and parks of this beloved neighborhood, solving clues that lead to both iconic landmarks and genuinely surprising discoveries. From Eataly's halls to the Harry Potter Store to the haunted pub on Broadway, every stop is chosen for the story it holds.
The Flatiron District, named for the iconic triangular building at 23rd Street, has been a swamp, a potter's field, a commercial manufacturing center, and a thriving residential neighborhood. It contains some of the most beautiful Beaux-Arts architecture in the city and some of its most overlooked monuments.
Starting at the statue of William Seward in Madison Square Park, teams race against time and each other to:
- Meet Civil War hero David Glasgow Farragut and crack the codes embedded in his monument
- Slip into the lobbies of the iconic New York Life and Metropolitan Life Buildings to study their extraordinary architecture
- Navigate the aisles of Eataly and uncover surprising facts about Italian cheese and food culture
- Study the famous Flatiron Building up close and learn the history of its construction and its condition today
- Visit the Harry Potter Store and complete a magical team challenge
- Walk the length of historic Broadway and discover Old Town Bar, one of the city's most atmospheric and storied establishments
- Search Union Square's sidewalks for plaques that reveal the park's remarkable and layered history

How it works: We organize, staff, and fully operate every hunt. You show up and compete. Our staff runs the entire event in person.
To book, choose a date, time, and participant count. We send a confirmation and invoice. Once finalized, you are on the calendar, and we stay in touch through the event date.
Before the hunt, we contact your group leader to confirm details and answer any remaining logistical questions.
On the day: We are in position at the designated time and location before your arrival. We form teams of 4 to 6 participants and capture everyone's attention for the introduction. Pre-arranged teams are welcome.
The rules overview: This is a real competition. One team will win.
- Teams stay together. No splitting up.
- Bold words in clues indicate where to direct your attention.
- The hunt has a 2-hour maximum, but teams can finish early.
- Teams plot their own course. Clues do not need to be solved in order.
- Photo and video challenges are completed on team phones and reviewed during scoring.
- The highest-scoring team wins. Arrival order breaks ties.
- The phrase puzzle on the final page is crucial for winning.
- Searching online for answers is not a useful strategy here.

As the hunt concludes, teams gather at the designated endpoint. We tally scores, announce winners, and celebrate the result. We are available afterward to walk through any questions about the clues.
