Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable – but they may be transferred to another group prior to your scheduled event, subject to the requirements outlined below. If you need to change your date, please provide as much notice as possible — ideally at least one week. If you want to give your rebooking credit to another group, we will honor that. We ask that, if you need to rebook, you do so within one year of the original booking.

Rebooking or Transfer Notice Requirements:

If you request to postpone or transfer your event with fewer than 72 hours’ notice, a rebooking premium of $150 per 20 participants will apply, calculated proportionally (e.g., $225 for 30 participants, $300 for 40, etc.). A minimum fee of $150 will apply for groups smaller than 20 participants.

Participants may be added to your booking at any time prior to the event. Additional charges will apply based on the current rate per participant, due before the event begins.

We plan and staff our events based on the confirmed participant count provided in advance, so all final numbers must be established prior to the event. We do not conduct headcounts on-site or adjust the final cost based on actual attendance. Once an event has taken place, no portion of the booking is transferrable or eligible for future credit.

Outdoor events may be moved indoors for any reason, including inclement weather, pending availability. We request at least 24 hours’ notice for any change of hunt selection. If a museum hunt is selected, museum admission is sold separately.

In the event of a force majeure — such as a public transportation shutdown, city-wide emergency, or government-issued order advising people to stay home — your event will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed future date.

Description

Explore Brooklyn Heights through a team scavenger hunt featuring nineteenth-century brownstones, literary landmarks, waterfront promenades and Revolutionary War history.

During our Brooklyn Heights Historic scavenger hunt, teams navigate the quiet, tree-lined streets and cobblestone paths of the Heights, decoding engaging clues about the neighborhood's most significant locations, residents, and stories. Discover hidden carvings, war memorials, literary legacies, and a view of the Manhattan skyline that is unmatched anywhere in the five boroughs.

Brooklyn Heights grew from Dutch colonial farms and a Fulton Ferry crossing into one of New York's first planned residential neighborhoods and later became one of the first areas in the United States to be designated a historic district. The area's character and historical density make it an ideal outdoor setting for a spirited team competition.

Your journey begins at the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall. Racing against time and rival teams, you will:

  • Explore the memorials of Columbus Park and Kings County Supreme Court, encountering the visionary behind the Brooklyn Bridge and a prominent American abolitionist
  • Visit the former homes of literary giants, including Henry Miller, Thomas Wolfe, Arthur Miller, and Truman Capote
  • Search for hidden stone carvings at a Maronite Cathedral entrance and discover the neighborhood's historic Mikveh
  • Stand at the site where George Washington commanded during the Battle of Long Island in 1776
  • Explore the history of the Fulton Ferry Crossing, the essential gateway that connected Brooklyn to Manhattan for generations
  • Walk the celebrated Promenade and take in one of the most spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline from anywhere in New York

The hunt concludes with a visit to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory (now transitioning to Ample Hills Creamery) as we tally the scores. Ice cream purchase is entirely optional.

Our Brooklyn Heights Historic scavenger hunt fosters strategy, collaboration, and communication as teams work together to decode clues, solve puzzles, and outmaneuver their rivals.

How it works: We orchestrate, staff, and oversee every element of the hunt. Your role is to arrive and compete. Our experienced staff manages every detail in person from start to finish, serving as game masters, scorekeepers, and hosts for the entire duration.

Booking: select a date, time, and participant count, and we handle the rest. Upon confirmation, you are on the calendar. We stay in open communication, answering questions and accommodating special requests leading up to the event.

Before the hunt, our staff contacts your group leader directly to confirm details and address any logistical questions. On hunt day, we are in position at the designated time and location, ready to gather participants and get everyone situated.

When the time comes, we form teams of 4 to 6 participants each. Pre-arranged teams are welcome. We provide a brief overview of the rules before the race begins: teams stay together, follow bold clues, and strategize their own route. The hunt has a 2-hour maximum, though teams can finish early. Points are earned through clue completion and photo/video challenges, with ties broken by arrival order.

Each group receives its clue packet and materials, and the race is on. Teams set off to explore the neighborhood's landmarks, working through clues and navigating the Heights together. Our staff is available along the route for support and guidance.

As the hunt wraps up, teams reconvene at the endpoint for score tallying, winner announcements, and prize distribution. We are available afterward to answer any questions about the clues or discuss memorable moments from the adventure.

All logistics are managed by our experienced on-site event team from arrival through the final score announcement. Teams of four to six participants are recommended for the best competitive experience. Prizes can be arranged for the winning team, and our staff is available after the event to walk through the clues and discuss memorable moments from the adventure together.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of exploration, teamwork, and discovery in historic Brooklyn Heights.

The hunt was a great experience for our team. The instructions were clear, there were plenty of clues to uncover, and we learned a lot of interesting things along the way. It was more challenging than we expected, which made it all the more rewarding.
