Stone Carving Weekly Class

Discover the art of stone carving in this hands-on class designed for all experience levels. Whether you are completely new to the medium or looking to expand existing skills, you will explore the creative and meditative process of shaping alabaster using traditional methods.

Materials Needed:
All carving tools are provided for use during the class. Students will choose and purchase their own stone at the studio. Wear comfortable clothing that can get dusty and closed-toe shoes.

What to Expect:
You will be guided through each stage of the carving process, including selecting a stone, rough shaping with chisels, refining with rasps and files, and completing the final surface finish. Beginners receive step-by-step support, while returning or advanced students can pursue more complex forms or explore new techniques with individualized instruction.

The workshop includes demonstrations, group discussion, and plenty of quiet time to work at your own pace as you develop confidence with the tools and connect with the material. No prior carving experience is required.
