What you'll learn in this drum class:

For those who've never taken our Beginner Drumming Course OR those who like to move at a little bit faster pace, this course is for you. Whether you have been playing Djembe or Dunun already, you will fit right in. We'll always review the basics and go on to learn the language of the drum in this lively, hands-on course. You will learn a lot!

We'll explore the rhythms of Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and The Gambia. History of the rhythms, as well as solo phrases and arrangements will be taught. Unleash your musical ability as we find our drumming voices together. Each student will receive some individual attention which really helps!

Bring a djembe to class. If you don't own a drum, you can rent one from DrumConnection. Drum rental is just $35.- for the 5 weeks if needed.

Optional: Please bring a recorder and maybe pen and paper. Bring a drum or rent from us.
