Description

From its origins in European Dadaism during the early twentieth century, shadowing modernism and carving a path through photography, collage is a medium as diverse as it is politically charged. Emerging as a reaction to the First World War, collage enabled artists to interact with existing materials - anything from newsprint and magazines to maps, tickets, propaganda, and photographs - tearing them apart and reassembling them into visually striking hybrids. Inspired by themes of self-discovery, this workshop encourages participants to explore the art of collage with a contemporary surrealist twist, incorporating text and storytelling techniques.

What To Bring

All the basic supplies will be provided, but students are asked to bring their own glue (if they have a preference) as well as paper. Students will be encouraged to share their collage materials with each other.

Please bring a sketchbook to the first class.

Refund Policy

Cancellations made at least 2 business days in advance of the class will be honored with a full refund less 5% cancellation fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
