Class Description

Description

Discover California's remarkable diversity of wine regions, grape varieties, and styles. From the prestigious vineyards of Napa Valley to the historic old-vine regions of Lodi and the sun-baked hills of Santa Barbara, this seminar showcases how California's winemakers challenged and competed with established French traditions, ultimately creating world-class wines of their own.

California stands as the largest wine-producing state in the United States and a global powerhouse in the wine industry. While Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara are among the most celebrated regions, this course surveys the entire state to provide a comprehensive understanding of California's most significant and influential wines across all major production areas.

During this hands-on seminar, you will taste six carefully selected wines while exploring the distinctive characteristics of the grapes used, the various winemaking styles employed, and the unique terroir that defines each region. By the end of the course, you'll have developed a deeper appreciation for California's contribution to world wine culture.
