Tijana Humphreys

Tijana Humphreys was born in Belgrade, Serbia to a mother who, being a dancer herself, exposed her to a theater life at a very young age. She first started performing on the stage at a young age of 7 and has continued to evolve, first as a ballet dancer and then upon arriving in the US, as a ballroom dancer as well. While living in Belgrade, Tijana performed with Ivo Lola Ribar dance troupe. Upon leaving Serbia, Tijana studied dance and music at the Conservatory of Brussels and performed with Ankhearte art and dance company, where she was first exposed to a Lyrical form of Ballet. She continued her training in Lisbon, Portugal where she performed at the Lisbon Players Theater in productions like Beggars Opera and Thurber Carnival. She moved to the US in her mid twenties and fell in love with the social aspect of Ballroom dancing. First working for Arthur Murray School of Dance until 2005 and then for Dick Raymond's Just Dance Studio until moving to TN in 2012. Shortly upon moving to TN, Tijana began teaching at Nashville Ballroom, formerly Dance World, where she continues to teach, choreograph, and perform to this day.
