What you'll learn in this health class:
Have you ever been out on a walk in your neighborhood and wondered how many of the plants and trees you see are edible or medicinal? Would you like to make a stronger connection with nature? Wait no longer Yoga of the Mind is partnering with Kate Armstrong a lifetime urban forager and herbalist to offer a series of workshops that will reveal the bouquet of food and medicines that are around you every day. These will be hands-on workshops that will get you started using herbs right away.
Your workshop leader Kate Armstrong started her lifelong plant education with her mother who came from a long line of farmers, plant people, and Smokey Mt. folk. For example, spider webs will stop bleeding if laid over a cut, burdock or plantain leaves are good bandages or a little fever few to relieve a headache. Kate brings her easy interactive style of teaching to empower you to become an Urban Forager too!
Workshops Being Offered:
Thur. Oct. 11 | Drinking Tea for a Reason: Using everyday herbs and plants to make your own personal teas.
Sat. Nov 10 | Making salve out of common plants. Demystifying healing balms and salves making them in your kitchen.
Sun. Dec. 2 | We will make popular herbal gifts for giving and entertaining during the holiday season.

Refund Policy
- We refund less 5% cancellation fee any cancellation 2 business days prior to the class or workshop start date.
- If the student discovers they cannot make the class at the last moment they can plan to attend another date within the next 60 days.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non refundable registration fee.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

Enter on the north side of the building between The Hornet Restaurant and Senior Burritos, or the nearest cross street is 1st & Broadway. There is a door code and it is posted during class hours above the code box.
Parking: you can park directly behind our building. There is also a pay parking lot as well. Street parking is by 2-hour meters. If you need more time you can street park in the Washpark neighborhood East of Lincoln Avenue on First ave you will find plenty of free street parking.
