What you'll learn in this unified communications manager training:

SIP Trunk Optimization (SIPTO) is a 5-day instructor led course that is intended for Cisco telephony administrators who need to understand the features and functionality of the SIP protocol, as implemented in the Cisco Unified Communications environment.  
The course begins with an examination of how SIP is used to establish, manage, and terminate sessions over an IP network. Next, it discusses the various types of SIP trunk options available within Cisco Unified Communications Manager.  SIP proxy and line-side configurations for user devices (phone, mobile, tablet, video) are covered and the course also includes SIP troubleshooting techniques and practice through hands-on labs.

This course describes what SIP is, what options are available, and how it is used to facilitate communication between various components, including Cisco Unified Communication Server, Cisco Unified Border Elements (CUBE), Cisco SIP Proxy Server and the PSTN. Students will learn how to use troubleshooting tools to identify and solve a variety of problems that arise during deployment and in day-to-day operations. The course will use URI ’click to call’, device independent, user addressing, the SIP Intercluster Lookup Service (ILS) and Global Dial Plan Replication (GDPR) features to dynamically distribute the dial plan throughout the enterprise.

Sunset Learning developed this course to provide additional training for those who already have a basic understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and are looking to use SIP in their infrastructure. This is not a certification or implementation course.

This course is intended for students who have general knowledge about:
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Professionals with CCNA Voice and/or CCNP Voice Certification
  • Customers that need to better understand the SIP protocol
Prerequisites:
To fully benefit from this course, students should have the following prerequisite skills and knowledge:
  • CCNA Voice or equivalent knowledge or,
  • Knowledge gained from attending prerequisite courses: VFCC or ACUCM w/AUC

Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy

  • For cancellation notice received more than 16 business days prior to the class date, students may receive either a full refund less 5% cancellation fee or reschedule into another class date.
  • For cancellation notice less than 16 business days prior to the class start date, students will receive a voucher in the amount of the paid tuition to use for the same course up to a six months time frame and will be automatically put onto the wait list of the course of their choice and granted final admission five business days prior to class start day based on enrollment levels.
  • Student substitutions may be made at any time prior to the class start date. The school recommends that students substitutions instead of cancellation.
  • Failure to attend without written notice prior to the class start date will be considered a no show and will result in forfeiture of the full course price.
The school reserves the right to reschedule a course at any time.

Reschedule Policy

  • If a student chooses to reschedule their enrollment more than 29 business days prior to the start of class, we will do so with no penalty.
  • If a student chooses to reschedule less than 29 business days prior to the training start date they will be subject to a reschedule fee. The fee will depend on the class and the timing.
