This expressive figurative painting class begins with loose, gestural drawing from a clothed model and guides students toward creating abstracted, dynamic figure paintings using bold color, simplified shapes, and inventive compositions. Through demos, artist studies, and individualized feedback, students will develop both sketches and 1–2 paintings that reflect their own story and a freer, more intuitive approach to the human figure.

You're invited to explore these techniques for yourself! On the first day, we will create two 10x10 pieces (a small diptych) using two different liquid art techniques. On the second day, we will create a larger 14x18 piece and on the third day, we will do the resin pour for all the pieces.
New techniques will be introduced as well such as blading on your paint, and embellishing with glitter and craft items. Proper resin pouring technique will be covered, and students will resin coat all three of their beautiful works.
Have you ever wondered how some abstract artists create stunning liquid art pieces with beautiful, flowing colors and rich, organic patterns?
