Class Description

Description

Prerequisite for this more advanced class is Intro to Abstract.

Mid-Century Masters explores new abstract expressionist themes, styles, and artists each session.

Learn a variety of ways to express our California landscape using a combination of tools sourced from master Californian Mid-Century landscape artists!

Some of their techniques included vast flat applications of paint, juxtaposed against sweeping brush strokes, and irregular grids, patchwork patterns, linear contours, and color combinations.

The subject of the California landscape is a great vehicle for learning to paint something that may lie between abstract and realism.

Supply List:

  • various acrylic colors
  • various brushes
  • quality paper towels like Viva or Blue Shop
  • palette knife and palette paper
  • all your paint stash goodies and supplies
