Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this ikebana class:

Kalapa Ikebana was founded by Chogyam Trungpa as a contemplative practice of expressing gentleness and elegance through the art of flower arrangement. It is a quiet practice of mindfulness allowing the student to experience harmony with nature and one’s perception. The process of arranging flowers and other materials allows the free expression of our true nature.

Note:

  • Students should bring their own flower cutting scissors.
  • The Center has some ikebana dishes (flat bottomed ceramic ones that hold at least 2” of water, and kenzan (flower holders with metal pins) which are available for in-class use, but it is recommended that students bring their own.

Wear comfortable clothing and layers for your comfort, and also, you may bring a pen and notebook if you would like to take notes in class.

Refund Policy

Students are able to cancel and receive a refund or reschedule.

Teacher was very competent on the matter. People that regularly attend the class were very pleasant. There was a good variety of flowers to pick from and all tools available if you didn’t have them
