Instructor -- Aaron Lovett 
Our lead trainer and TFLI Director of Curriculum and Training is Aaron Lovett. He has worked on the design and development of the TESL@TFLI program since its inception in 1999. Lovett has taught ESL students at every level, from pre-literate refugees to doctors and scientists working on their writing and presentation skills at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Many of his ESL students come from the international business community, including executives, authors, and professional athletes. He specializes in brain-smart teaching and learning strategies applied to teacher training and language acquisition.

Instructor -- Hamish MacFarlane 
Hamish MacFarlane is an ESL teacher and cultural trainer at teacherhamish.com. He uses online technology to help ambitious professionals around the world improve their English for career reasons. He has taught thousands of students using a variety of technological platforms and methods. Hamish has a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate from the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute as well as a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the University of Cambridge, England

Instructor -- Helia Rethmann
A lead trainer for the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate program at TFLI, Helia also teaches German, ESL, TOEFL, Writing and Business English. As a trainer, Helia has developed and facilitated various professional development courses for Teachers of Foreign Languages, ESL, and Special Education. She has sixteen years of teaching/training experience and believes that learning is an ongoing process.
