Teaches at Make Nashville

Maverick Edwards is Make Nashville’s Resident Woodworking Ninja. He was one of those kids who asked for two of the same toy for Christmas; one to play with, and one to take apart to see how it worked. That request of course was never met, however the request for “more Lego and model rockets” (the gateway drugs to making) often was. By the time high school rolled around he had built nearly eighty model rockets and had taken up playing guitar. When one of his friends gave him a no name electric guitar that “didn’t work” it wasn’t long before it had been disassembled, refinished, rewired and turned into a playable instrument. As he began playing in more bands and taking on ever more challenging instrument customization jobs, it inevitably lead to building guitars of his own design from scratch. These days Maverick keeps the wolf from the door by being a computer programmer during the day. At night he can be found playing music with his band, or building yet another guitar in the Wood Shop.
