What you'll learn in this silver class:

Students are familiarized with basic studio tools and fabrication techniques for working in sterling silver.

This class is a fun, fast-paced introduction to creating handmade jewelry. Students are encouraged to explore creativity within design parameters while learning the fundamentals of technique to allow for construction of new jewelry ideas. Soldering, sawing and filing shapes, forming and joining, ring sizing, polishing and basic stone setting will be practiced in class.

They include a tour of the jewelry district and a complete list of trade references and supplier resources to provide the new student with a full introduction to the jewelry industry. Small class sizes are perfect for both absolute beginners or those looking to refresh their skills.

Bench Time: Open bench time is available to use the studio and to make up missed classes. Tools, machines, silver solder and flux are all available. Some Sunday bench times will be cancelled due to weekend workshops, but the Studio will send notifications out in advance. Bring your own metal and ideas.

Note: After enrolling, you will receive  a detailed list of tools required for this class. On average, these cost about $60.

Attended: Ring Making Intensive

There were a lot of students in the class...it was 10:1 student teacher ratio!! I read that other students got to make more than 1 ring...I kinda wished I could make 2! The teacher was pretty cool though, very helpful and funny, but had to wait in a mini line to get his attention :(

Attended: Steel Fabrication

This was a great class! I am an absolute novice when it comes to jewelry design, but the teacher was very patient and clear in his explanations, and the other students were so enthusiastic about their projects. The space is a really good one to work in. I never felt crowded. They have plenty of tools & resources available to use, but you should bring your own files and saw. Overall I would recommend this class to both beginners and advanced jewelry makers who want to learn more about the specific properties of working with steel. Bryce was very knowledgable and loved to discuss his craft.

Attended: Bangle Bracelets Intensive

Great class with a very organized, knowledgeable, skillful, and patient teacher! I was especially impressed with how she taught soldering--which isn't an easy thing to teach. The fact that there were only five students allowed her to give each of us individual instruction and assistance. I am very happy with the bracelets I made, and I know what I need to do next to improve my next bracelets.

Attended: Wax Carving I

The instructor was so nice and really took the time to help everyone. I intend to sign up for the metal smithing class in the fall. I would recommend anyone to take a class there or just visit and see the showroom.
