What you'll learn in this composition class:

Students will take an explorative journey through the historical Grand Central station in Manhattan.

Grand Central station is a wonderful photographic setting perfect for documenting both architecture and people in a very bustling space.

Your teacher is there as you relax and just "point and shoot," or to give more technical instruction on the equipment that will allow you to work at a more advanced level. The group is small and friendly so there is plenty of time for each no matter what their interests in theme or skill level might be.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

There is no cancellation fee if you notify us prior to one (1) week before your workshop. Later cancellations will not be refunded. Workshops can be rescheduled by the student once without fee, and any additional reschedules are permitted for a fee of $10 each.

Bill Blanchard has decades of experience in commercial and fine art photography. He employs various techniques such as multiple imagery, surreal infrared landscapes and hdr techniques to make his point. Bill got his start as a public relations photographer for a leading nyc studio in the late 70’s. Covering everything from elephants marching through the Lincoln tunnel for Barnum and bailey, to the restoration of the statue of liberty. Starting his own business in the late 80’s, bill has been privileged to work for the likes of, sun chemical, goldman sachs, george street playhouse, seton hall, rutgers and umdnj and pbs channel 13, to mention a few. As of late bBill has turned much of his attentions to the more artistic side of photography. Using multiple imagery, surreal infrared landscapes and hdr techniques to make his point. Resulting in a new way of seeing and shooting, taking the ordinary and alternating it into something beautiful and totally unexpected.

The instructor, Phil, was extremely patient and encouraging . He knew everything about the topic and taught at just the right pace to let us beginners grasp the topic and reach for just a little more information . Phil is a wonderful teacher and very personable . After I practice what Phil taught me about picture taking, I look forward to a follow-up class with him . - Elena

I wish I could review this course but I couldn't attend because I was never provided with a location. I called/emailed both course horse and the provider several times and all my communications were ignored. I would never use either company again. I am extremely disappointed and want a full refund. I would strongly advise people to stay away.

Teacher (Adam) was excellent. Easy going, knowledgeable and articulate. Curriculum, definitely enough to help you get started, probably some more granular detail that might be fun. Facility - random location, a cafe in Sty Town, but worked out great given the class was very small.

Great class that I would highly recommend for anyone who is new to photography. I learned the basics of photography and how to use my camera. The instructor was very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure we understood the concepts and were able to use the different functions of our individual cameras.

Attended: Point and Shoot 101

The Point and Shoot 101 class was superb. I am not exaggerating when I say that the instructor, Steven (sp?), was one of the best teachers I ever had the pleasure of taking a class with. Very knowledgeable about the subject of photography, obviously very passionate about it, and has a way of explaining concepts where things really sink in. I'd take another class with him. Overall, a good experience, small class size helped too!
