This session will focus on fungal decay diseases, prevalent in the damp fall season, that affect many of our native tree species in the Pacific Northwest.
Recognition of decay pathogens is essential when assessing tree health and structure. This session will focus on fungal decay diseases, prevalent in the damp fall season, that affect many of our native tree species in the Pacific Northwest. Specific diseases covered include annosus root rot, armillaria root rot, laminated root rot, velvet top fungus, red ring rot, artist conk, brittle cinder and madrona canker. When assessing tree health and structure, proper identification of these pathogens is essential in order to determine appropriate management methods. Plant Health Care (PHC) approaches to management, including acceptable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods will be covered.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
