We'll use heavy gel medium and a palette knife to create texture, depth, and a beautiful gloss! Follow along to paint your own mountain range, or work on another painting using acrylic paints and gel medium. In addition to learning about handling a palette (or painting) knife and using a gel medium, you'll also learn how to layer the paint for some really cool effects!
Supplies
Acrylic paints - you can use whatever colors you like or have. In this painting I used: turquoise, ultramarine blue, white, purple and gold. You'll also need a palette knife, and a stretched canvas or canvas board. I'll use a 9x12, but feel free to use whatever size you've got. Also heavy gel medium will help you get the full effect of this class, but it is not absolutely necessary.
This class will take place on Zoom
Zoom is an easy to use online video conferencing site. You can access it through your computer (recommended), smartphone, or tablet.
You'll receive a link to join the Zoom video call within an hour of the class. Click the link, and if you've never used Zoom before, you'll be prompted to download a tiny bit of software on your computer, or the free app on your phone or tablet. Easy-peasy!
