The course was expertly addressed. The teacher took time but not too long to make sure everyone in the class was up to speed. The students varied in excel skill level but with an Intermediate class nothing took too long for everyone to fully grasp. I think the teacher thoroughly went through exercises and practice problems. Sometimes even called on students to complete exercises in front of the classroom. Everyone was called on about once and if you really do not know you do not need to go up. It's more of a way of making you feel proud of figuring it out. I will definitely be back for a higher level course! Thanks again!

  • Introduction to Python Programming

    Anonymous review on 1/27/2019
Great class to get started with python. Pros - We covered a lot in only three lessons. (Taking your time to go over the notes and exercises afterwards is imperative if you want to learn). -Art and Tim were great teachers who were happy to answer any questions and are very knowledgable. -There was a snowstorm on the night of my second class, and I couldn't make it from work in time. Art let me move to the next cohort with no dramas at all. -Art is always available for questions, he got back to me within minutes whenever I asked him about something. Cons - This may not even be a con, but we jumped straight into the language and syntax. If you are a complete beginner to coding, you'll need to go over what a terminal is, what a shell is, and how enter things in the command line. I had dabbled a bit on Codecademy, but never really attempted to code for real and this was a bit disorienting at first. About 20 min of googling after the first class had me up to speed though. Overall a great class and would totally recommend if you want to start learning python.

The instructor was amazing - the content was well made, in an order that made sense and easy to follow. The instructor's timing was spot on - it was clear she had done this many times before. She was helpful, patient & kind. This class went by surprisingly fast for as long as it was because of how structured the agenda was. I will be taking other courses here.

  • Introduction to Python Programming

    Anonymous review on 8/24/2018
I enrolled in the Introduction to Python course after noticing how many jobs are needing Python experience recently. I already had programming experience and a Computer Science degree but wanted to take a course to make learning a bit easier and to force myself to do it. Art is a great instructor and used many clear examples during the course. My particular class only had 3 students including myself and the 2 others were not tech savvy. Art was very good at handling their questions and keeping the pace of the class moving though I would imagine if the class was larger it would be more difficult with many people who didn't know some technical basics especially since it's only a 3 session course. I walked away with a solid foundation in Python though and I've been learning on my own as well and going into more advanced features beyond what was taught in the course. It's a good springboard to start learning Python. Art also provided potential job interview questions and that same week I actually encountered one of them in a real interview so he was right on the mark. You will benefit the most if you do work on your own between the classes and make use of the resources provided to you for self study.
